Commissioner

The Commissioner shall be the Executive Head of the Sangathan and the Chief Administrator of Kendriya Vidyalayas, responsible for the due discharge of the functions and policies as laid down by the Board of Governors.

At the Headquarters office in New Delhi, he shall be assisted in his work by the following:-

  1. Two(02) Additional Commissioners:-
    • Additional Commissioner(Admn)
    • Additional Commissioner(Acad),
  2. Five(05) Joint Commissioners:-
    • Joint Commissioner(Admn)
    • Joint Commissioner(Pers.)
    • Joint Commissioner(Acad.)
    • Joint Commissioner(Fin.)
    • Joint Commissioner(Trng.),
  3. Five(05) Deputy Commissioners:-
    • Deputy Commissioner(Admn.)
    • Deputy Commissioner(Pers.)
    • Deputy Commissioner(Acad.)
    • Deputy Commissioner(Fin.)
    • Deputy Commissioner(Trg.),
  4. Five(05) Assistant Commissioners consist of:-
    • Three (03) Assistant Commissioner(Admn.) and
    • Two (02) Assistant Commissioner(Fin.)

And other Officers and staff, as sanctioned, approved and appointed from time to time.

Additional Commissioners

  1. The Additional Commissioner (Admn.) of the Sangathan shall be the Principal officer under the Commissioner, in-charge of the registered office of the Sangathan. His main functions shall be as under:
    • The Additional Commissioner (Admn.) shall exercise general supervision over all accounts of the Sangathan, shall pass all bills for payment on behalf of the Sangathan, shall arrange for keeping upto date accounts of the Sangathan and do all other things which are necessary and incidental to the conduct of the works of the Sangathan.
    • The Additional Commissioner (Admn.) shall prepare the budget for approval of the Board of Governors.
    • The Additional Commissioner (Admn.) shall attend all meetings of the Sangathan and the Board and record the proceedings thereof in the Minutes Book.
    • The Additional Commissioner (Admn.) shall execute and sign on behalf of the Sangathan or the Board all contracts, deeds and other instruments, except instruments, relating to assurance of property, unless duly empowered in this regard by the Board of Governors.
    • The Additional Commissioner (Admn.) shall be responsible for the efficient administration of the Headquarters Office and shall be the Principal Adviser to the Commissioner in all matters concerning formulation of policies, accounts, administration and discipline.
    • For the purpose of section E of the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (XXI of 1860), the Additional Commissioner (Admn.) shall be considered the Principal Executive of the Sangathan and the Sangathan may sue or be sued in the name of the The Additional Commissioner (Admn.)
  2. The Additional Commissioner (Academics) shall be the Principal Officer, under the Commissioner, for looking after the academic wing of the Sangathan. The Additional Commissioner (Acad.) will be responsible for monitoring the progress of academic work at various levels, organisation of in-service training programmes, co-ordination of sports and games activities and implementation of language programme and co-curricular activities, etc.

The Additional Commissioner (Acad.) shall also be the Member-Secretary of the Academic Advisory Committee.

Joint Commissioners / Superintendent Engineer

  1. The Joint Commissioner (Finance) shall be the Internal Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer of the Sangathan. Joint Commissioner (Finance) shall be the Member-Secretary of the Finance Committee.as well as the Works Committee and shall be responsible for the co-ordination of all assigned work related to Financial matters of the Sangathan. The Joint Commissioner (Finance) shall assist the Commissioner as well as Additional Commissioner(Admn.) in looking after all assigned work related to Finance matters of the Sangathan.
  2. The Joint Commissioner (Administration) shall assist the Commissioner as well as Additional Commissioner (Admn) in looking after all assigned work related to Administration/Personnel matters of the Sangathan.
  3. The Joint Commissioner (Personnel) shall assist the Commissioner as well as Additional Commissioner (Admn.) in looking after all assigned work related to administration and personnel matters of the Sangathan.
  4. The Joint Commissioner (Academics) shall assist the Commissioner as well as Additional Commissioner (Acad) in looking after all assigned work related to Academics matters of the Sangathan in implementing various programmes for academic achievements
  5. The Joint Commissioner (Training) shall assist the Commissioner as well as Additional Commissioner (Acad) in looking after all assigned work related to Academics/ Training matters of the Sangathan in conducting in-service training programmes etc. and in monitoring the functioning of Zonal Institutes of Education and Training.
  6. The Superintendent Engineer shall assist the Commissioner, Additional Commissioner(Admn) in looking after all assigned work related to works matters of the Sangathan in proper supervision, inspection and control of Vidyalaya buildings/Head Quarter/ Regional Offices buildings of all states all over India.

Deputy Commissioners

  1. The Deputy Commissioner (Finance) shall be the Adviser and Accounts Officer of the Sangathan. Deputy Commissioner (Finance) shall be assisting the Joint Commissioner(Finance) for the Finance Committee as well as the Works Committee and shall be responsible for the smooth co-ordination of all assigned work related to Financial matters of the Sangathan.
  2. The Deputy Commissioner (Administration) shall assist the Commissioner, Additional Commissioner (Admn) and Joint commissioner (Admn)for all assigned work related to Administration/Personnel matters of the Sangathan staff at all levels.
  3. The Deputy Commissioner (Personnel) shall assist the Commissioner, Additional commissioner (Admn) and Joint Commissioner(Pers.) for all assigned work related to administration and personnel matters of the Sangathan staff at all levels.
  4. The Deputy Commissioner (Academics) shall assist the Commissioner, Additional Commissioner (Acad) and Joint Commissioner(Acad.) for all assigned work related to Academics matters of the Sangathan in implementing various programmes for academic achievements.
  5. The Deputy Commissioner (Training) shall assist the Commissioner, Additional Commissioner (Acad) and Joint Commissioner(Trg.) for all assigned work related to Academics/ Training matters of the Sangathan in conducting in-service training programmes etc. and in monitoring the functioning of Zonal Institutes of Education and Training.

Branch Officers At Head Quarter Level

The work of various sections in the Headquarter Office shall be supervised at the branch level by Supdt. Engineer, Assistant Commissioners(Admn.), Assistant Commissioner (Fin), Assistant Commissioners(Acad.), Assistant Commissioner(Vig.), Executive. Engineer (Works) , Deputy Commissioner(Acad)/ Deputy Commissioner(Admn.) etc.
